Investment Motives Drive Buyers

investmentSavvy property purchasers in Italy consider investment potential of homes in up-and-coming areas

Investment motives are a key factor when it comes to buying an overseas home according to a new survey by Savills Research and Holiday-Rentals.co.uk.

Over half of the 12,000 overseas property owners questioned cited investment as the main reason for purchase, with rental potential being the most important financial consideration.

The survey revealed that investors are increasingly looking further afield to emerging holiday destinations like Southern Italy, where property is more affordable, to make the most from their venture. Alexis de Belloy, Managing Director of Holiday-Rentals.co.uk said "Provided sufficient research in to the location is carried out, rentals can make a significant contribution towards costs."
