Italian Property Investment Boosted By 'Rural Dream'

ruralTuscan Farmhouse dream fuelling investment in rural regions.

British holiday-goers chasing the "Tuscan farmhouse" dream have fuelled a surge in Property Investment in rural Italy, an Overseas Property expert has revealed.

The Association of International Property Professionals (AIPP) said that Calabria, the southernmost toe of the "boot" of Italy, was experiencing a large amount of interest in property from overseas investors due to its low prices.

The AIPP added that the region offered a safe bet for investors dreaming of their own farmhouse, with many properties boasting large plots of land as an added extra.

Paul Owen, AIPP's chief executive explained that Britons' familiarity with Italy as a holiday destination meant it was similar to Spain in terms of a good location for a property investment.

Mr Owen said: "It falls into the same bracket as Spain and Portugal people know what it's about, they've been there, they know what they're going to get, they know how to get there.
