Experts nominate Corsica as top for activity holidays
Corsica has been tipped as a top region for activity holidays by one industry expert this week.
According to travel book publishers Rough Guide, the French region offers a range of "down-to-earth physical experiences" for holidaymakers to get stuck into.
Lucy White, editor of The Rough Guide to Corsica, highlighted the canyoning, mountain biking and horse riding as outdoor pursuits available to visitors of the island.
She added: "(Corsica) is dependably hot and sunny in the summer; beaches and boat trips are often inundated with bronzed holidaymakers."
White also noted that Corsica is easy to reach and can be accessed by ferry from France.
