The luxury wine and spa hotel will be located in Vila Nova de Gaia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its Port wine cellars. Built on a series of terraces, with panoramic views over the River Douro and the city of Porto, the hotel boasts 12 suites and 70 bedrooms, each with a terrace and private garden. The hotel will also have a restaurant, a Port bar, lounge and 11 meeting and event rooms. Adjoining the hotel will be a beautiful wine spa with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gymnasium, children's club and gardens.Francisco Franco Afonso, the general manager of The Yeatman, said: "We hope to deliver an authentic and luxurious experience for people visiting Porto and an unforgettable wine experience." The Yeatman forms part of a family-owned company called the Fladgate Partnership, owners of Taylor's, Croft and Fonseca Ports. Established over 300 years ago, the company is already involved in tourism with visitor centres, a restaurant and catering company in Vila Nova de Gaia together with a tasting room and vineyard visits at Quita do Panascal in the Douro Valley. The Yeatman is just one of a series of luxury projects planned for this area of Portugal as the region looks to attract more tourists and property investors.
