Easier and faster access to properties means more investment, according to expert.
The addition of routes to southern Italy from more regional UK airports has proved a big plus for those looking to make a property investment overseas, according to a real estate sales firm.
Homes in Italy has suggested that the 'opening up' of certain airports in Italy, as well as a growth in the number of UK regional airports offering routes to Italy, has been good for people going on holiday and investing in property.
'Three or four years ago it was very difficult to get to parts of Italy, especially southern Italy,' said Mark Slaviero, director of Homes in Italy.
Mr Slaviero used the example of East Midlands Airport, which traditionally had flown to Venice and Roma but has substantially expanded this offering over the last few months.
'This year alone, they've added Romany, they've added Sardinia, Milan, Pisa - which is fantastic for Tuscany,' he said.
Homes in Italy is a professional property sales service with a head office in the UK and an Italian office in Padova. It advocates allocating a budget and taking property viewings seriously among its tips for buying property in Italy, according to the firm's website.
